In July, Rwanda and its SWF – the Agaciro Development Fund — will host the second annual convening of the African Sovereign Investors Forum (ASIF). ASIF is the continental association of Africa’s sovereign funds. The meeting will take place on July 6–7th, 2023 at Kigali Marriott Hotel.
Organized under the theme “Strategic Partnerships: Driving Africa’s Resilience And Sustainable Development’’, the event will bring together high level representatives of African sovereign funds, as well as leaders and executives of relevant African and international finance stakeholders.
A joint statement by ASIF and AGACIRO said: “At this year’s edition, ASIF is looking forward to continuing the positive momentum from last year’s successful launch and strengthened partnerships. We are confident that this year’s event will provide an opportunity for our members and partners to build on the progress made and to chart a course for a greater development. It will seek to highlight the continent’s investment potential and challenges, and the importance of collaboration among the various stakeholders to put the continent on track to deliver its SDGs. It will also be an opportunity to discuss how to scale up private and institutional capital mobilization and maximize its contribution to the sustainable and inclusive development of our continent”
ASIF was launched at an inaugural meeting hosted by Morocco’s Ithmar Capital in Rabat, Morocco, in June 2022 under the theme “Seizing Africa’s opportunities: agility and collaboration in a changing world”. The 2023 Annual Meetings will coincide with the 10th Anniversary of AGACIRO.
